WELCOME TO SOUTHAMPTON!

Wherever you are from, we hope you enjoy your time in our city, but we know it can be hard to feel at home in a strange place. We'd love to help you settle in. And we've got a few ideas you might like to consider.

SUNDAY GATHERINGS

Join us on Sunday mornings at Christ Church!

We have people from many different nations at Christ Church - and of all ages. So we aim to provide a real sense of family and community for people from around the globe at our Sunday morning gatherings.

There are gatherings at 9.30am and 11.15am each Sunday (10.30am outside term times) at Cantell School, Violet Road, SO16 3GJ. Check out the Visit page for up-to-date timings.

You'll find a warm welcome, as well as the chance to make British friends of all ages.

After the gatherings, tea, coffee and refreshments will be served. Do stay for that and chat with others.

iCONNECT

If you've recently arrived in the UK, or if English isn't your first language, iConnect is for you!

If you're a Christian, we'd love to welcome you into one of our small groups to study the Bible together, pray with one another, and grow in our love and knowledge of God.

If you've never looked into the Christian faith, or just want to learn more about the religion of many English people, we'd love to welcome you into an explorers' group! Here, you'll be able to ask questions and find out more by reading an eye-witness account of the life of Jesus.

We meet at Burgess Road Library, Burgess Road, Bassett, SO16 3HF every Tuesday evening at 6:30pm for a meal, and 7:15pm for a Bible Study. We'd love to meet you!

FREE ENGLISH LESSONS

Want to improve your spoken English? Want to learn more about the British culture?

Our classes are held from 5:15pm - 6:25pm on Tuesdays in term time at Burgess Road Library, starting on 26 September. We have two groups: one for pronunciation and grammar, during which you will learn British pronunciation, idioms and phrases for everyday life, and one for conversation, where you will discuss a range of topics.

Please note that we do not offer official training for English-language exams - we are here to provide informal opportunities for international members of the community to speak, learn and improve their English.

Anyone is welcome; we have a whole range of nationalities and people from kinds of backgrounds each week. Our classes are primarily aimed at adults, but teenagers are also welcome as long as they are accompanied by a parent/guardian/friend over the age of eighteen. Young children are welcome, but they must be supervised by their parents/guardians as we do not provide childcare.

Our classes are completely free of charge and there is no need to book; you can simply arrive at 5:15pmFree snacks and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided.
