This summer we are looking to purchase a house where the Faux family can live and from which James Faux can conduct his leadership of the CCS student ministry.
The great news is: we've found what looks like the ideal house, located in Mead Crescent (a little family-friendly enclave near Wessex Halls). See pictures below. The challenge now is securing finance for it and completing the purchase in time for the Faux family to move in next month when they have to leave their current accommodation. Our offer was made and accepted on Thursday 5 May, so it's a tall order. But we have a great God!
The house has 4 bedrooms, a couple of options for study / office for James and some good spaces for hospitality. We think it could be an excellent option for future generations of CCS pastoral staff and in the long term should save the church financially too.
The house currently features some striking decor choices (watch out for the chance to join a painting party!) but appears to need little substantial work before the Faux family move in.
In order to keep CCS free of debt, the house and its mortgage will be held by our associated charity, the Christ Church Gospel Partners Fund (Charity no. 1150427) and leased to the church.
