CAN YOU TRUST THE BIBLE?

MONDAY 16TH MAY, 7.30PM

HIGHFIELD HOUSE HOTEL

£10, INCLUDES 2 COURSE MEAL

Many people have questions about God and the Christian faith, good questions and sometimes difficult questions. And they are questions which, if they remain unanswered, make belief in God implausible and impossible. Big Questions is a series of regular events which attempts to answer some of the questions people have. We look at questions relating to the reliability of the Bible; the relationship between science and Christianity; the problem of suffering and many more.

The events are held termly at The Highfield House Hotel (119 Highfield Lane, Southampton, Hampshire SO17 1AQ). There is a two course meal with a short talk followed by an opportunity for questions and answers. These are ticketed events, with a charge of £10 per person. The meal starts at 7:30pm and finishes by 9:30pm.

'IT IS FINISHED'

THE CHRIST CHURCH MID-YEAR CONFERENCE 2016

This the pow'r of the cross

Christ became sin for us

Took the blame bore the wrath

We stand forgiven at the cross

The centre of the gospel. The foundation of our hope. The glory of God, and the pattern of our life. The importance of the cross of Christ cannot be overstated.

But although there are mysteries about the cross, this needn't lead to misunderstandings.

What is finished at the cross? Did God really die? How can such an hideous event bring glory to God? Isn't punishing the innocent unjust? Who did Jesus die for? Why can't we just talk about Jesus teachings?

These and many other questions will be answered over the course of MYC 2016. We're looking to have our hearts inflamed with love for God and our minds echoing with the apostles' words:

"May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ."

WHO? If you are a student or in your twenties then the Mid-Year Conference is for you!

WHEN? 26-28 February 2016

WHERE? We're all travelling to the beautiful Isle of Wight

WHAT? A weekend away together filled with good food, good fun and good friends. Football, walks, games, chat and much more will undoubtedly feature. We will have extended time of teaching together and plenty of time for questions and prayer as we grapple with truths from God's word together.
